On Wednesday, Aug. 2 at 9:24 p.m., Gloucester Township Police officers made a motor vehicle stop on Route 42 Northbound.
A passenger, later identified as James Jordan, was not wearing a seat belt and provided officers with a false name, police said.
When questioned, Jordan allegedly became uncooperative with officers and began to tell officers that he was going to run into highway traffic, they said.
Jordan was advised that he was being detained and pulled away from the officer’s control. Officers then attempted to place Jordan under arrest at which time he resisted officers and again began to pull away. After a brief struggle, Jordan was eventually taken into custody. There were no injuries to the suspect or officers.
Jordan was found to have warrants out of Pennsylvania for a parole violation, eluding and shoplifting and several warrants out of New Jersey.
Jordan was charged with obstruction of justice, resisting arrest and hindering apprehension, police said.
Jordan was sent to the Camden County Jail.
